This year has set an unprecedented time for all of us when it comes to many of our regular activities. As things begin to reopen, we find ourselves searching for a piece of normalcy and comfort for our regularly scheduled events, including vacations. Although vacationing may look a little different this year, that doesn’t mean you should put it off altogether.
The joy of traveling in an RV is being able to control your environment in a way that is not always possible with other forms of traveling. While you make your plans, we hope you consider staying with us at one of our RV parks, especially Villag Camp Truckee in Truckee, California.
Don’t worry about finding things to do, there’s plenty around! But just in case, we’ve put together a few of our favorite seasonal activities.
Explore the Outdoors
Lake Tahoe is beautiful, there’s no doubt. But boating and fishing on the beach aren’t the only way to explore the area. From guided hikes to tubing, rafting, kayaking and more you find it hard to be bored when North Lake Tahoe is only 20 minutes away!
Tuesday Farmers Market
One of the great things about RV life is the ability to cook and store your food right in your camper. Being able to eat fresh, healthy food on the road is hard to do but camping makes it easier and so do local farmer’s markets. The Truckee Farmers Market is open from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. every Tuesday until October 15th and offers not only fresh produce, but prepared foods, baked goods, fish, meat and handmade goods. While masks are asked to be worn of all visitors and social distancing is being enforced, the farmers market is a safe, fun place to spend your morning and help keep to a healthy lifestyle on the road.
Hit the Slopes
For those winter adventurers who want to enjoy cold weather fun two ski resorts sit just 15-20 minutes from Villag Camp Truckee. Northstar Ski Resort’s mountain getaway opens on November 20th is perfect for a quiet retreat, while Squaw Valley Ski Resort is one of the largest ski areas in the USA and even host to the 1960 Winter Olympics.
Feeling Lucky
Just 35 minutes from Villag Camp Truckee lies “The Biggest Little City in the World”: Reno, Nevada. Explore this mini Las Vegas with casinos, a growing tech scene, and endless entertainment from live shows to dining that will make for the perfect date night or day trip for adult fun.
Book your stay at Villag Camp Truckee
While there are several options around to park your camper, there’s not any other quite like the tranquility at Villag Camp Truckee. Located conveniently on the California-Nevada border, the resort offers plenty of amenities to make your home away from home comfortable and fun.
